Pathological vessel remodeling in liver disease: a single cell transcriptome study to identify new targets KU Leuven
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is characterized by a drastic vascular remodelling including arterial hypervascularization (AH), which massively increases the blood supply to the growing tumour, but also sinusoidal microvascular capillarization (MVC), which impedes oxygen transfer, creating hypoxia and thereby promoting HCC growth. The molecular mechanisms driving the alterations in the respective contributing cells (arterial & sinusoidal ...
Single-cell RNA-sequencing in the context of space and time to interrogate tumour microenvironment (TME) impact on therapy response KU Leuven
I will leverage scRNA-Seq and Spatial Transcriptomics technology to generate transcriptome profiles of 10,000s of GBM cells in relation to specific tumour location. These profiles will be used to interrogate GBM intra-tumoural heterogeneity, map the TME and assess how stromal cells react in the presence of targeted therapies. I will firstly employ 10X Genomics technology to generate transcriptome profiles of 10,000s of cells from syngeneic ...
