Stimulation of innate antitumor immunity: evaluation of hypoxia- and Toll-like receptor-related therapeutic targets in glioblastoma. University of Antwerp
This innovative basic research project is situated in the development of effective immunotherapeutic strategies for GBM. Elimination of both GSC and differentiated GBM tumor cells by innate immune cells is inhibited by GBM-mediated immune escape and suppression in a hypoxic tumor microenvironment. In the proposed research project, we aim to break this immune escapeand suppression of GBM cells and GSC.
