The "Awad el Djouh Affair". Slave Trade, Human Rights and the shaping of the Postcolonial World (1948-1962) Ghent University
The project deals with mediatised stories on slave trade from West Africa to Saudi Arabia in the mid 20th century and their effects on International and National Legislature. It will address both the construction of the postcolonial world in the 1950s, and the current reshaping of global history as a practice, through approaches taken in translocal and institutional world history.
