Bernstein-Sato ideals, their structure and connections with other topics KU Leuven
The form of Bernstein-Sato ideals is investigated. In particular, as a generalization of the result of Malgrange/Kashiwara, the conjecture that Bernstein-Sato ideals can be generated by products of linear polynomials with integer coefficients and positive constant term, is considered. Towards this goal, means of algebraic geometry, D-module theory and computer algebra are applied.

Extensions of submanifold theory to non-real settings, with applications KU Leuven
In the thesis, we study extensions of submanifold theory to settings which do not (necessarily) have the real numbers as ground field. An example of this is the study of submanifolds of holomorpic Riemannian manifolds. We show how holomorphic Riemannian submanifold theory has useful applications to a.o. the study of submanifolds for pseudo-Riemannian spaces. Furthermore, it will be shown in the thesis how Riemannian geometry and submanifold ...
