Name "Vrije Universiteit Brussel" "Behavioural Sciences - Governance" "All concerning the development and implementation of governance, structures and systems to make coworkers committed and motivated to work towards the organizational goals with action research as research methodology " Diversity "Koen VAN LAER" "The research of the unit is organized in three thematic clusters: diversity in employment relations and organizations, in education and in the Belgian society. Examples of research topics are inclusive diversity management practices, the relation between diversity and employment relations, pregnancy-related discrimination at work, work-family balance for female entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurship in ethnic minority communities.  Diversity in education includes research projects about the institutional and organizational mechanisms that create or successfully combat the educational gap between ethnic majority and minority students in schools and higher education.  Within the Belgian society, research is conducted about the perception of equal opportunities among the Belgian population and the integration of ethnic minorities in Flanders." "Research Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation" "Niet beschikbaar" "Strategy and Organisation" "Our research is focused on open innovation strategies. In the past, we had a narrow research focus on alliance networks and their impact on innovation performance. In recent years the focus has been broadened as a result of changing trends in innovation and entrepreneurship research. In this respect, we have a leading edge research about open innovation in Europe, resulting in a number of publications in leading international journals. We are a small and dedicated team working together with a selected group of research partners in Europe, the US and China. In the next years we will strengthen the position of the group by continuous efforts to improve and extend research, by a better exposure among researchers worldwide, and by developing exposure among interested business communities. We are currently speeding up research about (external) corporate entrepreneurship and open innovation. Therefore, we are allying with researchers in international networks. We are currently working together with Henry Chesbrough (UC Berkeley, California), John Hagedoorn (Universiteit Maastricht), Oliver Gassman and Ellen Enkel (University of St-Gallen). We also work in close collaboration with medium sized and large companies in the area of cooperative strategies, corporate entrepreneurship, and innovation management. This leads to the development of application oriented research, teaching cases and management tools.
