  • Research Expertise:Experienced Post-Doctoral researcher with 9 plus year research experience in synthetic organic chemistry. Strong research professional with a Ph.D. focused in hypervalent iodine chemistry from National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, India. Currently, joined as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Antwerp working on photocatalytic C-H bond functionalization after finishing my tenure as SERB-National Post-Doctoral Fellow at Catalysis Laboratory, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, India. At IIT Bombay, I was involved in developing transition metal-catalyzed distal C-H bond functionalization reactions of arenes and synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant heterocycles. Highly skilled in metal-free hypervalent iodine-mediated organic synthesis and transition metal catalyzed transformations along with diverse instruments and techniques.
  • Keywords:ORGANIC SYNTHESIS, INNOVATIONS, Chemistry (incl. biochemistry)
  • Disciplines:Free radical chemistry, Organic chemical synthesis, Catalysis, Organic green chemistry, Photochemistry
  • Research techniques:Being a synthetic organic chemist, my aim is to develop sustainable and straightforward synthetic protocols for synthetically useful organic molecules and pharmaceutically relevant heterocycle scaffolds (e.g. carbazole, benzofuran etc.). To characterize the synthesized molecules, I utilize several analytical techniques, such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), ESI-MS, UV-Vis absorption spectrophotometer, Emission spectrophotometer, IR-spectrophotometer, HPLC, microCal iTC 200.
  • Users of research expertise:Synthetic chemist from both academia and industry.
