Remote laboratory setup for software verification in an embedded systems and mechatronics course

This paper proposes a setup to provide remotelaboratory courses on embedded systems and mechatronicsapplied in engineering education. A hardware setup, whichallows students to test and verify their design on a real physicalsetup from a remote location, is presented. Special attention isgiven to live feedback and measurements. The accompanyingsoftware setup is discussed and presented. The software setupaddresses multiple aspects such as manipulation of the remotesetup, setup reservation, live visual feedback and security.
