Reference task 10 Environment and Health and Home - Ask for advice on CO2 as an indicator for a healthy indoor environment

Book - Report

The indoor environment of a building is defined as all chemical, physical and biotic factors that can be relevant to health, including the well-being of residents and users of publicly accessible buildings.
Many aspects of indoor environment quality are influenced by ventilation and ventilation facilities, in particular thermal, acoustic and visual comfort as well as indoor air quality (cf. IAQ: Indoor Air Quality).
Healthy ventilation is a continuous process of fresh air intake and removal of polluted indoor air in order to reduce the health risks of contaminants (from indoor and outdoor sources) as much as possible and to avoid additional risks (e.g. due to improper use or insufficient maintenance of the ventilation system). An overview is shown in Table 1, where the link to the chemical, physical and biotic factors in the Flemish Indoor Environmental Decree is indicated.
