Flexible formwork as reinforcement for curved concrete structures

Book Contribution - Book Chapter Conference Contribution

This paper presents the structural analysis of a stay-in-place formwork in textile reinforced cement (TRC) composites for concrete shells. The purpose of this analysis is to examine with finite element software if the formwork can contribute to the structural performance of a concrete shell and how much TRC is needed to replace the traditional steel reinforcement. This research is part of a broader feasibility study that evaluates the potential of cement composites as stay-in-place formwork for shells in both constructional and final stage by numerical and experimental tests.
