Experience research compact living

Book - Report

Subtitle:nsights into the choice and experience of compact housing that can support the implementation of the Flanders Spatial Planning Policy Plan
This study provides insights into the choice and experience of compact living and how to use them in the implementation of the strategic vision of the Flanders Spatial Planning Policy Plan. The focus of this research focuses on the compact dwelling in the form of the terraced house or the apartment. Although both typologies can be described as common, they speak little to the imagination in the living wishes of the average Fleming. The question therefore is: How can we do these housing typologies appeal to the imagination? This research consists of a literature study and a perception study. The literature review contains a screening of existing research on relocation and housing motives in Flanders, with the 7E/12E model for behavioral change as a theoretical framework. In this part of the study, the importance of true compact residential narratives to stimulate behavioural change have been demonstrated. Through testimonials from the experiential research gathers these insights that can lead to narratives and wishful thinking.
