Copyright © FrancoAngeli This paper examines the importance of union strategies on the processes of organizational change implemented by two multinational companies operating in the Logistics sector in Italy. The article is structured in four salient parts. The first discusses the literature on trade union strategies. The second presents the methodology and the comparative design of the research. The third illustrates the case studies and analyzes them in the light of the actors’ action dynamics. The fourth examines the factors that influence union strategies and concludes. In summary, the importance of union strategies on the processes of organizing production and work is highlighted. The analysis of these strategies, within a common institutional context, contributes to the understanding of the conditions in which the collective actors (trade unions and companies) are able to transform the macro-institutional context in which they are embedded.
