Analysis of the service cycle of an elevator during up-peak

An elevator system is modelled as a discrete-time queueing system with a batch server. Theelevator is described during up-peak which means that customers arrive at the ground floorand travel to higher floors. We compute the steady-state probability generating function ofthe service cycle of the elevator. We derive the steady-state probability generating function ofthe queue content and we present some numerical example of the average system content as afunction of the load.
