Project

Wearable Integrated Technology for Health Monitoring of Hospitalized Patients in the Euregio Meuse Rhine (R-7760)

The objective of the project is the creation of a wearable multi sensor medical device that is confortable for the hospitalized patients and acceptable by the different hospitals of the Euregio Meuse Rhin. The device that will be developed should be able also to inform via alarms of risk situation and provide a readable analysis of the data for the doctors to take informed decision. The new device will also include the identification and administrative data of the patient. It would allow replacing the paper bracelet with bar code that each patient receives when he enters the hospital. To be profitable for the hospitals and adapted to the reality of patients and nurses, the project will focus on the patient care settings. The targeted patients are the ones who aren't under constant monitoring. In the CHU of Liège, they represent 80% of the patients, while 20% are constantly monitored.
