Unraveling the intriguing interplay between CD70+ cancer associated fibroblasts and colorectal cancer cells resulting in the identification of a potent biomarker and novel therapeutic target

Evidence of evolving crosstalk between colorectal cancer (CRC) cells and their microenvironment has been provided. We observed a high expression of CD70 in cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs) present in CRC stroma of late stage disease. Consequently, we will investigate the clinical significance of the interplay between CD70+ CAFs and CRC cells as well as the value of an anti-CD70 mAb in advanced CRC.
