Towards a sustainable improvement of milk production for smallholder dairy farming systems in Tigray Region, Northern Ethiopia

The overall objective of the proposed project is to contribute to the development of the potential of

smallholder dairy farming in Tigray Region, northern Ethiopia. To do so, research focusses on

optimisation of dairy cattle nutrition using local feed resources within a systemic context with

climatological, social and economic constraints. Both farmer-participatory and laboratory research is

carried out.
