Project

Sustainable Asphalt Pavements for heavy-loaded road constructions.

The cooperation aims to research on optimized road constructions for heavy-loaded asphalt pavements and the development of a "Vademecum of sustainable heavy duty asphalt pavements" selection method for the construction and repair of sustainable asphalt road construction. The following research topics and results are elaborated:1) A vademecum 'Sustainable asphalt pavement stuctures for heavy loading' based on available knowledge and analytical study of various road structures by existing design models. Including: State-of-the-art of new technologies used in port environment (benchmarking other ports), Recommendations for road structure methodology and specifications of materials for Heavy-duty Road Infrastructure, Overview of Promising Technologies (pavements in harbor environment) aimed to policy support, recommendations for tenders.2) Experimental testing of 2 selected asphalt mixtures.3) Advice on the selection of contractors and asphalt mixtures for the realization of test tracks in the port.4) A design of selection model with discussion moment.5) Publications and communication of results to external parties.6) Research by students and PhD7) Case ROAD_IT: Description of the possibilities and benefits in the domain of this project.
