Study of proton-proton interactions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV with the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (FWOAL606)

The Large Hadron Collider at CERN delivers proton collisions with an energy of 7 TeV. These collisions are studied using the CMS detector. We reconstruct the individual proton collisions to understand the fundamental interactions between elementary particles. Because we still have a series of unsolved questions in our current theoretical description, it is expected that new phenomena will be discovered in these collisions. This will lead to new insights in the fundamental structure of matter.
