Study of the essential function of beta-actin in embryonic development and the necessity for correct localisation of beta-actin MRNA during neuronal development

Through analysis of the B-actin knock-out en knock-in mice, and derived cell lines thereof, we will study the essential functions of B-actin in development (more specific in vascularisation and neuronal differentiation) and the role of the 3'UTR in correct localization and function of B-actin. Several methods will be used, including in situ immunostaining, primary cell cultures, RNAi and differential proteome analysis.
