Project

A stAPP for a better health.

Aim:In this project we want to measure sedentary behavior and make people aware of it. Consequently we want to stimulate a change in this behavior by means of an innovative and amusing application on a smartphone. Subjects:We aim to decrease the sedentary behavior in the home environment and leisure time of people between 19 and 59 years of age. Design:This project is a collaboration between physical activity counselors, staff of the Lokaal Gezondheidsoverleg (Logo), psychologists and engineers. Phase 1: The app will be designed, validated and an intervention study will be set up. By means of a permanent interaction between users, researchers, designers and field workers, the app and its tools will be designed, optimized and refined. Consequently the app will be validated by a representative group of users. Subsequently, in a controlled intervention study we will study the impact of the app on the sedentary behavior of the users. Phase 2: The app will be tested in a sample in 2 pilot towns in the region of Logo Oost-Brabant by means of interactive workshops and/or information sessions. This implementation is in collaboration with Logo Oost-Brabant.
