SmartDetox - Removal of organic micropollutants from water (SMARTDETOX)

The occurrence of organic micro-pollutants (OMPs) in surface and groundwater presents an increasing problem for maintaining a healthy human water cycle. SmartDetox aims at  (i) developing an environmentally sustainable cost-efficient membrane reactor (MR) technology for mixed OMP removal and destruction at two crucial points in the human water cycle.  (ii) developing improved methods for evaluating (eco)toxicity of the treated water linked to its chemical composition, including transformation products (TPs). SmartDetox will have economic as well as socio-economic impacts
