Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer with Backscattering

In this proposal, we propose an innovative approach exploiting a Massive MIMO Basestation (>64 antennas), sending information and power in the downlink while receiving uplink data through backscattering of the nodes. Multiple novel methods are investigated for in-band, adjacent band, and out-of-band backscattering, in order to maximize the uplink data rate, function of the ratio Echo-to-Self-Interference (ESI), of a node that receives its power and low-rate downlink control data from the base station (see Fig. 1 for the concept of this project).
