The aim of the PhD project is to prospectively obtain detailed and realistic information about the anatomical changes and possible consequenceson sexuality, overall well-being and partner relationship after pelvic surgery for gynaecological pathology. All women who undergo pelvic surgery for benign or malignant gynaecological pathology are invited to participate our prospective study. After subjects gave written informed consent patients complete the following validated questionnaires before surgery and 6 months, 1 year and 2 years after surgery: Beck Depression Inventory, Dyadic Adjustment Scale, WHO (five) Well-being Questionnaire, Short Sexual Functioning Scale, Impact of Event Scale, Questionnaire about Female Sexuality, Specific Sexual Problems Questionnaire and the Short Sexual Functioning Scale for the partner. Specific long-term vaginal side effects of radiotherapy or surgery for cervical and endometrial cancer will be measured by clinical examination. And by giving educational seminars for patients and partners we will try to improve our clinical care for gynaecological patients. These seminars will be evaluated  in a qualitative study.
