Project

In search of collaborative models for a coordinated urban and city-regional housing policy.

Housing policy in the 21st century depends on succesful collaboration and coordination between housing actors (public, non-profit, profit). This research project explores possible collaborative models for urban and city-regional settings. In doing so, strengths and weaknesses of different models are mapped and optimal conditions of each model are defined. Central concepts are collaboration, organisational development, and support. The research also addresses the role of governments, namely how they as meta-governors can stimulate such collaboration (e.g. through legislation). Empirical data is drawn from a number of cities and city-regions in Flanders.
