The role of local government associations in promoting gender mainstreaming

This research aims to contribute to support the capacity building of the local government association ANCB and its Belgian development partner VVSG on gender mainstreaming. This research relies on two data collection processes: 1/identifying good practices in other similar (African) local government associations and 2/providing methodological support to the local government association ANCB on gender mainstreaming support to municipalities.  Results from these two data collection processes will be analyzed and discussed with VVSG and ANCB in order to nurture their own capacity building strategies related to gender mainstreaming in local governments.
