Relationship between the microstructure and geochmistry of cacite and quartz veins: petrogenetic implications

Calcite and quartz veins are common structures in the Earth's crust, but their trace element geochemistry is virtually unknown. The relationship between the veins' composition, their microstructures, and the composition of the host can provide new insights into their petrogenetic history. This has implications for chemical models of the Earth's crust and the formation of ore deposits.
