Rehabilitation and social reintegration of War Affected Children in Northern Uganda through Community Support Structures (VLIR161)

In order to prevent the loss of information about child soldiers and the local expertise in the care and supervision of these children at the conclusion of the project, the remaining amount will be used for the development of an interuniversity center which will be completed in the short term. ensure an inventory, management and the possibility of the scientific study of the archive of the Rachele Rehabilitation Center and of the local expertise in the reception and supervision of child soldiers. In the medium term, the inventory, management and scientific study of the archive and expertise will be embedded in the further development of an interuniversity study center for 'forgotten children'. It concerns the study of the reception and supervision of children who are confronted with violence and war situations, including child soldiers, street children and unaccompanied minor refugees. In the long term, the study center must lead to an expertise and documentation center that combines the knowledge and expertise in the field of childcare and counseling of children with violence and integrates them into partnerships.
