Antimony Recovery from Industrial Residues

The recovery of antimony trioxide from Sb-bearing industrial residues (flue dusts, slag, dross or anode slime) by using thermal evaporation method will be investigated. To improve the quality of antimony trioxide, different technique route will be designed to remove arsenic and lead from the residue before evaporation. The reaction mechanim and behavior of impurities during the removing process will be clarified, and also reaction conditions will be optimized. In order to enhance the production efficiency, thermodynamic and kinetic experiments will be performed to better understand the evaporation process of antimony trioxide from residues. The activity of antimony trioxide in residue will be measured and the effect of temperature and additive on evaporation process will be studied. Kinetic study will show the major factors that affect the evaporation efficiency and impurity level in product, so that optimal conditions can be obtained.
