Project

Reconstruction of the geodynamic evolution of the felsic magmatism associated with critical mineralization in the Great Lakes area of Central Africa

The project is centered on the felsic magmatism associated with critical element mineralization, (eg. Nb-Ta-Sn-W-Li-Be) in Central Africa. The goal is to understand the link between the regional geodynamic evolution, felsic magmatism and mineralization. In addition to the use of fieldwork, petrographic and geochemical techniques, this project will lead to analytical developments for radiometric dating at the UGhent.
