Real-time monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 evolution to rapidly trace hospital outbreaks and to understand spreading of the virus in the population.

Whole genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 will be implemented in this project. With this information, we will trace outbreaks in hospitals and this will allow to take appropriate corrective actions. Secondly, it will allow to follow the evolution of the virus in 1) its spread and 2) its changes in virulence, if observed, will be better understood.
