Quantum information for quantum fiel

Recently, borrowing techniques and concepts from quantum information theory, two powerfull methods (PEPS and MERA) appeared, that allow a new quantitative and qualitative understanding of discrete quantum systems. The overall goal of our research project is to contribute to the exploration of these methods in the context of quantum field theories. This could provide a new framework for the study of the strongly coupled regime in dynamical situations, relevant for our understanding of heavy-ion-collisions, for instance.
