Prediction of Turbulent Reactive Flows by means of Numerical Simulations (PRETREF)

Predicting turbulent flows with chemical reactions accurately is essential for development of technology and fundamental research in a wide range of applications. Biosystems, chemical reactors, internal combustion engines, furnaces and fires are all considered by the multidisciplinary consortium. The common feature in numerical simulations is turbulence with detailed (bio-)chemical kinetics, for which advanced models are applied, exchanged and further developed where necessary.
