Postsecondary expectations of young people in cities around the world: The effects of schools and education systems

Students in secondary schools have certain expectations about what they will achieve after compulsory education, such as going to university or entering the labour market. These expectations are an important predictor for educational attainment and are influenced by social background, causing social reproduction. This research examines how schools and education systems influence these expectations, using a unique longitudinal international dataset.
