Postpartum breast cancer diagnosed during involution: a distinct entity with unique clinicopathological, molecular and immunological features?

Specific objective. The objective is to determine why postpartum-associated breast cancer (PP-BC) exhibits an inferior prognosis relative to pregnancy-associated breast cancer (Pr-BC) and non-pregnancy-associated breast cancer (non-Pr-BC). We will perform large-scale retro- and prospective studies in the breast cancer subgroup of the Internatianol Network on Cancer, Infertility and Pregnancy (INCIP) to characterize the clinicopathological prognostic profile of PP-BC and to determine whether PP-BC exhibits a specific molecular signature with prognostic relevance.
