Politics in late antique Rome: Networks and argumentation in Symmachus’ Letters

This project pushes the boundaries of social network analysis in order to study the letters of the important Roman senator Symmachus (fourth century AD). By doing so, the project contributes to a reassessment of late Roman politics, building on, and making a crucial contribution to, the research project “Lobbying in Late Antiquity”, both qua methodology and qua content.
