POLICY RESEARCH CENTER 2012 Youth Research Platform (YRP).

The Youth Research Platform was originally founded in 2003. The Youth Research Platform is an interdisciplinary and interuniversitary cooperation between the research groups of Social Welfare (University of Ghent), the department of Sociology (University of Brussels) and the Leuven Institute of Criminology (University of Leuven). It aims at building a structural foundation for youth research through two main activities: (1) the construction of a systematic database of all existing youth research in Flanders and Europe and (2) the repeated gathering of empirical data about the conditions of children and youth, by means of the Youth Monitor. Through these activities, the Platform aims to support policy makers in preparing and developing an evidence-based youth policy addressing the conditions, convictions and conduct of Flemish youth. These activities and the data collected will equally result in national as well as international publications on several aspects of the contemporary social world of young people (in Flanders).
