PhD in biochemistry : functionalization of protein-based 2D arrays

Symmetric proteins have a wide range of applications given its high stability and easy functionalization. A symmetric self-assembling protein have been designed to assemble in 2D-arrays on top of metal surfaces in presence of metals. This brings a wide range of applications to the protein that go from biosensoring and protein recognition to high throughput chemical catalysis. This doctoral program focuses on the understanding of the mechanisms of self-assembly of this protein and on the optimization of the variable part of the structure in order to functionalize these 2D arrays.
