Project

Optimization and physiological application of a powered ankle-foot exoskeleton: an experimental study of the muscular determinants of sustaines locomotion.

The first part of this project aims to optimize a powered ankle-foot-exoskeleton such that the highest possible reduction in metabolic cost during walking is obtained. The outcome could be transferred towards the development of assistive devices for clinical populations. The second goal is to use the exoskeleton as a tool for identifying localised muscular determinants of fatigue during fast walking.
