Optimisation of knee laxity and stability following arthroplasty

Following knee replacement surgery patients commonly suffer from instability and misalignment of the implant. The proposed research evaluates the relationship between implant positioning and surgical technique, and the instability of the knee. Therefore, a robotic test rig will be developed in combination with a numerical framework comprising musculoskeletal simulations. This combination will lead to the development of a surgical algorithm.
