The Open Call Competition Procedure of the Flemish Government Architect: An archive of 20 years public commissioning and a renewed building culture

In 2019 the Open Call Competition celebrates its twentieth anniversary. The Open Call is a competition formula to appoint architectural teams for public projects. In 1999 the institution of the Flemish Government Architect was founded. It was the start of a proliferation of architectural quality and the regional Baukultur. The archive gives an insight in the recent development of architectural practice and is assessed critically.
