Non-surgical treatment of Cataract for animal and human application (Cataract Hond)

Ghent University and VIB are developing a non-surgical therapy for cataract treatment and obtained in vitro POC validation data in cadaver eyes of animals, in vivo data in mice and recently obtained the first ex-vivo validation In human cadaveric eyes. Next to intravitreal injection we recently discovered potential for topical application. In this project, we aim to obtain addtional POC data in animal studies and explore having an addtional license track for application in domestic animals. Next to this, for the human application, we need additional pharmacokinetic data, additional ex-vivo data for intravitreal and topical application and build a pre-IND plan (pre-investigational new drug plan) to convince potential licensees. In parallel we will continu to interact with potential licensees in order to obtain several licenses in specific domains and applications.
