Nano3Bio – NanoBioEngingeering of Bioinspired Biopolymers (Nano3Bio)

The Nano3Bio project aims at establishing biotechnological ways for producing fully defined, partially acetylated chitosans. Today’s commercially available chitosans, produced from chitin isolated from shrimp shell wastes, can be well defined concerning their degree of polymerisation and acetylation, but they are invariably characterised by a random pattern of acetylation. In addtion, application tests will be performed with these novel molecules.
