Logistic Models: separation issues and possible solutions (R-5474)

A common statistical problem that occurs in the application of logistic models to analyse binary response data is the separation problem, which if not dealt with appropriately, may compromise the inference process and result in biased conclusions, e.g. with regard to the relevance of a particular factor on the presence or absence of an effect on an organism. The project will discuss solutions for more complex data structures and propose guidelines on how to deal with the separation problem.
