Catalytic lignocellulose-derived alkane synthesis

The conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into lignin oil and pulp in presence of solid catalysts will be investigated. Both products will serve as precursors for advanced liquid biofuels using processes based on unique chemocatalytic routes. Holistic views will be developed for the biorefinery integrating both sustainability and process technical aspects. The role of catalysis and the importance of the catalyst properties are key aspects of this study.
