Project

Job sharing II: From part-time to full-time with a shared job in education and healthcare. (R-5512)

In the framework of the project DUObanen two cases were examined: (1)how the combination of part-time jobs (for one or more employers) could legally be organized, and (2) which labor and social security law problems could push the employee and employer in job sharing. This juridical research was limited to the combination of jobs in private care sectors and resulted in march 2013 in the legal script "Van deeltijds naar voltijds met een duobaan". Present project proposal fits in the wider development of a better exchange between the programs in the field. That way there is a response to the aspirations that play in both the educational institutions themselves and care centers, aiming at a better connection of theoretical and practical knowledge. Creating opportunities to exchange staff between the respective partners is of course only possible within the existing legal framework. The partners have listed a number of bottlenecks to which they would like to get a specific answer. At the same time from the participating partners a clear indication is given that one employment relationship would be the ideal solution. This ideal solution right now hits some legal blockades. For this reason we opted to split this project in two stages. In the first stage a script will be developed in which the partners can revert in an unchanged juridical situation. In the second stage the partners will strive to a working environment for the institutions involved in the project that is as unambiguously as possible. This leads to the establishment of specific policy proposals that can be taken to political actors from the workplace.
