IOF Proof Of Concept: Fight bacteria in humans and animals with the MICSTRIP concept (IOFPOC37)
Because of the growing concern associated with antibiotic medication and resistance, the World Health Organization emphasizes the need to have effective, rapid, easy-to-use and low-cost diagnostic tools. Since none of the current antibiotic susceptibility testing methods comply with the current needs, a new photonics-based concept was worked-out in a collaboration between Universiteit Antwerpen (Medical Microbiology and Product Development) and VUB (Brussels Photonics) and will be validated in this IOF PoC project.
