Interaction between distribution grid tariffs and regulation, and consumer investment and behavior towards a technical optimum for maximal renewable integration

“If a problem cannot be solved, enlarge it.” - Eisenhower.  Energy system integration is a discipline that looks at the energy system in its whole to identify links between different fields of expertise that could potentially benefit from each other. As such, this research aims at identifying how energy system components such as policy and regulation, a given socio-economic climate, today’s best practices within academic education and professional organisations, act as agents of change that can either slow down of accelerate the transition towards a sustainable, affordable, and stable energy system. Electromobility will be chosen as a use case to illustrate and quantify the value of multidisciplinary system interactions within the electrical power system.
