Project

Inhibition of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication (HIV Control)

General

The effective inhibition of HIV replication targeting viral escape and resistance under immune and drug pressure.

Specific

In silico: to genotype HIV drug resistance interpretation and predict HIV evolution with applied and optimalized resistance algorithms and fitness models as bio-informatics tools. In vitro: to study new therapeutic HIV targets, siRNA manipulation and gene therapy, and the induction of anti-HIV cellular immune responses using normal donor and patients' blood cells and viral strains. In vivo: to test the experimental immunological in vitro findings on relevance and/or efficiency in a Trimera mouse HIV model.
