Project

Infrastructure for Targeted Proteomics

A large number of KU Leuven research groups are interested in using the Olink Signature Q100 system, which has unique features for high-throughput protein analysis. The Olink Signature Q100 Instrument is a dedicated benchtop system specifically designed and optimized for qPCR readout of the Olink Target 96, Target 48, and Focus panels based on the Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology. This technology is a game-changer for proteomics research in terms of robustness and cost-effectiveness compared to other proteomics techniques. Setting up this platform at KU Leuven would enable numerous translational and clinical research projects to better understand the underlying causes of diseases and improve diagnosis and care. Implementing this facility in KU Leuven would also help to place our institution in a leading position, being the first Olink facility in Belgium.
