Improving the governance of technology transfer for private sector development in Tanzania in the framework of South-South cooperation with China.

This South Initiative, funded through VLIR-UOS, aims at strengthening the research and policy influencing capacity of the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) of the University of Dar Es Salam, Tanzania regarding South-South cooperation. The joint project focuses on the cooperation between China and Tanzania, especially in terms of the effects on technology transfer activities towards the private sector in Tanzania. The research project contains a mix of exchange visits between the HIVA-KU Leuven research group on global development (Belgium) and IDS; the support for field work and dissemination activities of a doctoral student from IDS (based at HIVA); joint proposal writing; and seminars in Tanzania and Belgium.
