Project

Improving carbon cycle ecosystem models using a new cost function concept to assimilate multiple data streams

The project objective is to develop a data assimilation method to use multiple data streams in ecosystem models. This approach will allow identifying systematic errors in the global ecosystem model ORCHIDEE. Improved model equations will be tested in the stand scale model EMERGent. Valid improvements will be implemented in the global model ORCHIDEE and used for future projections.
